I'm not sure what your question is here. If you want a comparison of accuracy
between these two statements, then I would say that Ross is spot on.
The plastic tray is like a rectangular funnel and directs the water down
a tube
through to underneath the car. (I clear mine by putting an piece old
garden hose
down inside the tube and pushing the gunk out.)
I wouldn't say that the water is supposed to drain into the Chassis. It'sBelieve it or not, the roof is MEANT to drain into the chassis.
supposed to
go through it and drain onto the street.
As far as I'm aware there aren't any door sill drains, however there arestandard issue blocking of the door sill drains.
pipes about
halfway between the door and the wheel arch underneath each side of the car.
I have heard that some people have drilled holes in their sills to drain
water away,
but the water isn't supposed to be there. I think clearing the drain pipe
regularly prevents this.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers
Charles
