I've cut mine down to give more air flow, a couple of cops have commected on
it but because it is clearly legible they didn't book me. However this
doesn't guarantee that you won't meet Officer Adolph one day.

Mine fell off over 5 years ago.

I've been pulled over 3 times, fined twice, got off one of them. I could
probably have argued my way out of the other one,but we were leaving the
country the next day (for a few months), so I just paid. It's a $200 fine, but
I think it might be more if you don't have the plate with you.
