Hi everyone!
We are in the midst of installing a new belt and can't seem to fit it over the
three pulleys.
Are there any tricks/techniques that anyone knows for getting it on?
Thanks
Michael & Kate

Installing Belts
Presumably you are installing a fan belt. Alternator slackened right off ? Got
the correct belt? Try a fork (dinner cutlery) and slide the handle under the
belt near the last pulley to go around, and gently push the belt into the
groove. Plan B Some nylon belt ( such as on a ratchet tie down) put it around
the belt holding both ends pull the belt over the pulley. Plan C Hope for
another List suggestion.

Both the Altenator/water-pump belt, or the AirCon/PowerSteer belts that I've
changed have required not just loosening the adjusting mechanism, but also the
bottom pivot bolt of what-ever it is that moves to provide that adjustment...
Altenator or P/S pump... These lower pivot bolts are a little harder to get
to than the adjuster, but once loosened just a little, you can really slacken
off the adjustment mechanism.
Dont forget to do them up again when you're done...
Fletch.

Just a caution note...
If you have a 1989 -1990 1600 take care not to over tighten the belts too
much...
