$315? I don't think I paid more than $300 for my RE711s last time. That's
in a 205/45 16

I get a good discount on Bridgestone tyres via my wife's occupation, but I
got the last ones at that price from Performance Tyres in Morningside, Auck
(needed urgent replacements).

there is other bridgestone stuff in the archives including recommendations

I purchased my Ecsta 712 205/45/16 for $200 each.
they have come on really well after the first 1000 k.
What wheels are you using zorruno?

ago

Wheels look good.
I have used grid II's for racing..
They are very predictable although they become somewhat squirmy when hot.
They are a softish sidewall so finding the correct pressure was a little
more work.
These are the first Kumhos I have used.
They are a silica tyre and the first 1000 to 1500 k.they were also squirmy.
I have not been able to resist measuring and checking the wear and can say
that at just over ten thousand ks they have worn reasonably.
Very even across the tyre and with just on 7mm remaining. Generally tyres
wear faster in their early life then settle down as the tread stops moving
around as much.
The dry handling is very good and they have a progressive and predictable
release. Reacquisition occurs easily and they are quite controllable on the
throttle
The wet isn't as secure, although my use has been little more than in town
or on the motorway when the weather has been poor.
This winter should change that.
The braking ability is very high. with lockup being abusive and deliberate.
All in all I would recommend them for most mx5s used mainly on the road.
Too much info?
probably...
