re 1.8GTX turbo conversion (was re; diff)

re Brendon's question, don't know if they're on the list or not, but have seen a white
MX with the plate GTXMX5 around Auckland about a month or so ago. Sounded as if
he had a turbo, and totally blew away my standard 1.6 along the south-eastern arterial
(not that I was trying to race him)

Anyone on here know the owner??

I saw him last week - as a blur overtaking me on East Coast Road

That would be a guy who used to hang out on this list called "Doc
Willis"...

When I met up with him, he had the plate, but not the engine to
match...

Seems as if he's rectified this problem...

There was one done by a freind of a friend that was a 323 turbo head on the
mX-5 block or something like that. Went pretty well I was told. This car was
Silver with an VR-VS HSV type front spoiler on it.
