Shouldnt you wait until the plate arrives and is rivetted in before you change anything and void the cert?

This.

Would love to see what happens when you rock up to get the plate fitted with new seat's that are obviously not up to cert spec

Yes, as you still wont have a valid WOF.

chris, what were your specs for the cert? Were you still running stretched tires and more than 2 degrees of camber?

How on earth is what you are doing legal?
You've been from 100mm above factory to almost at the legal limit and yet installing coilovers and staying above 100mm is illegal :?

Its not 100% legal but I have never gone below 140mm pinch to ground.

Im about 310mm Hub to fender front, 335mm hub to fender rear now.

Have you had the alignment checked? Looks like you've got positive camber in the rear

Its got roughly -1.2 in the rear now instead of -0.5. Camber goes more negitive as you lower its just the photo that makes it look that way.

Take me out for a drive :D I've always wanted one but sitting in the passenger seat will be like fulfilling a dream (secretly I always wanted the S2000 but ended up investing heavily in the mx...)

Yeah but rotaries have no torque :P
Would rather chuck in a dirty great v8 or add forced induction before ever touching a rotor

What are you planning on doing, towing a boat with your MX5, that you need oodles of torque your only pushing around a little 980kg car. It' s not like you have a big heavy car like a Holden Statesman (they did a run with a 12A in them in the 70's) or 929 Luce. That's where they got an unfair rap over having no torque, because they stuck the engines in big heavy cars in the 70's and 80's that they certainly wouldn' t want have considered putting a little 1.6 into.

Plus you might want to revise that statement, an early 13b rotary has more torque than the 1.6, and much the same as the 1.8 at 186nm

Then you can always turbo them, that will help increase the torque. Or go really silly and put in a turbo 20b triple rota, at 410nm. Plus there is nothing like ringing the shit out of a rotary. I've had a couple of 1st Gen RX7' and never really understood why Mazda didn't stick the rotary into the MX5 (and a tin top fastback) and call it the second gen RX7 instead on that FC that they did.

Rotarys have huge amounts of torque, just generally peaks at higher RPM, check out this sheet for an NA 13B.

I just don't like them full stop. Not sure if its the sound of them or something else.
Also dad said he'd kill me if I ruined any car by putting in a rotary
