I've had no problem pressing them out. The only ones I have had to burn out are the anti-roll bar end links.

I have a short length of pipe and a long bolt that I use which just winds them out. Works a treat.

I did the same. It made it incredibly stiff to change gears, but I've just got used to it now. My gear stick makes a vibrating sound above about 5500rpm too.

did some more work on fitting new roof, poor car is a mess, both rain drains are full of dirt and blocked. rain rail is rugged but hope I can reuse.

got to clean and paint some rust then try and fit new skin to frames. it already had a aftermarket roof fitted.

If you want to try and patch up the rain rail, get a reel of "flash-tac" tape. It is aly foil on one side and a bitumen compound on the back. It is strong enough to hold it together and seals the cracks up so it doesn't leak.

Been on the hunt for an MX5, found one that was shagged. Diff/gearbox made SO much noise, and had rust in a pillar. The other felt mechanically AMAZING, but the body was so rough...

The one with the shagged drivetrain was priced a little high, they wanted 6.2 for the one that was cosmetically ruined... Seats torn, both bumpers damaged, dings on both doors.. etc Only 150ks on it.

Sounds like a good product, think I know the stuff. is it what they put around windows on houses before window goes into framing?

soft top I got has heated glass but haven't seen any sign of wiring in my car yet.

also the steel curved u shape piece that kinda holds the back of roof to back of car is really badly rusted if anyone has one.

Being honest, my budget is up to 8k. Prefer hard top or having enough left to buy a hard top. My problem is that I cant find one worth buying, no matter what the price is.

I know what you mean. I like my car, wouldn't buy another mx5 as they aren't my car and I'm not selling  that and I've realised I've "invested" too much into it lately

Agree re removing softop entirely. Looks so much tidier without it in there.

Ive just got a hardtop now, and its mean.

I have been tempted to remove my soft top, Although I like driving top down, and going away, then being able to chuck the soft top up!

Another one for no soft top here, and I'm comfortable with it :)

Those sunny days with the top down is the entire reason I bought my car. I'm not going to jeopardise those opportunities. EVAR!

THIS

Even on good nights in winter, dropping the roof and going for a thrash down some back roads is awesome

Same position haha. I have considered getting a replacement top, but I'm not huge on driving around top-down. Lady friends don't like their hair getting crazy either :P

I removed the softop cause I never remove the hardtop, allows more space when putting a set of tyres in for track days.

Also allows me to eat more since its 20Kg less.

Looked at another 2. Finally found one I'm happy with, EXCEPT - no frankenstein clips (Easy fix), and some minor rust under the brake booster. Off to view another 2 today and will hopefully make my mind up
