Not my cup of tea, if I had to take an NC it'd be hard top all the way.

Think I'd still prefer spending the money on restoring and modifying an NA :P

It would look a lot better without the soft-top. i.e. open-top

To be fair though, my order of preference is NA > NC > NB, which is probably funny considering my first taste of any of them was driving an NB Roadster through the winding roads of Mt Akina (Haruna) and Mt Akagi in Japan :P

The only thing I don't like about my NA is how far my headlights pop up, or how round those lights are... I'm sure I'll eventually swap them out with something slimmer and square one day 8)

I've been drooling over that kit for a while. I remember reading you need a left hand drive kit though, as the lights angle slightly differently.
Cool sunroof bro...

I have been eyeing those up for a while now but I wasn't sure if they'd pass the wof etc. That and they're quite expensive although that site is cheaper than getting it direct from Germany...

they will pass wof the bulbs are designed to work in the square housing and should provide better lighting than the stock setup

If anyone is keen for a group buy or something along those lines then I am very keen also.

Otherwise I'll just save up until I order other things from overseas and try combine the shipping

It would need to be a right hand drive kit for NZ so that it dips to the left. In most cases that is determined by the design of the lens. If it is a standard size light fitting you may be able to by the fitting kit and source the lights themselves locally. Providing they are the correct lights and properly adjusted there shouldn't be any warrant issues.

Just had a thought, doesn't the Astina use a rectangular fitting in its pop-up headlights.

Damn those are nice, I'm keen on a group buy. I'm starting full time work in the next few weeks so I'll have some cash to finally do something to my car.

Since the post has been hijacked from the speedster to low profile headlights, I have got a template for some low profile lights using the Hella H7 90mm headlights, which on initial testing meet the WOF standards, but just waiting till the car is completely done before final checks and then figuring out how much it costs to make them up.

I was thinking something along the lines of "this'll probably change the topic really quickly" as I was writing the initial comment about the round headlights on my car :P

Sounds good.. Got any pictures? I'd buy a set off you for sure. And yeah gotta say the MX5 forums here are pretty bad at veering off topic, everyone likes talking about 5s too much

I could certainly be interested in pursuing this as a test car if you'd like ;)

I think the only complicated part would be, aside from fabricating the house, adjusting the motors to fit to the lower profile of the housing.
