BCImports Short Shifter
Considering buying one of these, just wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with longevity.

Nope. Once the bushing fell apart it rattled constantly as well as having massive slack and crap shift feel. Come to think of it it didn't even fit either until I filed down some useless sticky-out plastic bits on the upper ball part.m4vr1k wrote:Would you recommend purchasing one, based on your experience? I don't mind a bit of notchiness, comes with the territory.
You could spend a bit more and buy a decent quality shortshift, but tbh the MX5 shift action is one of the best in the business as standard anyway.

What if you transfer original bushing to the new short shifter? That's what I did with mine (different seller/bland(?) but very smiler one.
The one comes with it was not holding well The bottom one that dipping into the oil.
I did installed it on Sep/2009 and holding well. I'm just using normal daily drive and occasional touring. - read it "not hard shifting like on track".
[Edit]
PS:
I had 180 degree turn (front back) to fit perfectly. Don't know why but just a hight/position of tab hit to the large ball was bit different. Maybe because shearing with RX7 application?
So... mine has tab on back while original one was tab on front.
