MX5 club - Northern

Post by mtrntr » Mon Jan 31, 2011 8:29 pm

Hi,

I am a newbie owner and was looking at joining the MX5 Club, but looking at their website, the Northern region (ie Auckland) seems to have pretty much no events listed.

Anyone here know much about the club? Is it worth it?

Rich

Hi Rich

I have been a member for about four years now and firstly i loved the driving & going to see different places but now i go for the social side just as much as we have made some good friends.
There is usually an event once a month for the day to somewhere different as well as several overnighters throughout the year.
I can recommend it as for $45.00 its money well spent and you are under no pressure for anything other than your enthusiasm! :D

Thanks

I figured as much. Seemed odd there was so little listed.

Pick up the car tonight... can't wait!

The Northern region is one of the better regions at posting the events on the website as soon as the details are available. There is an event every month and you can see the previous ones to give you an idea of what happens here http://www.mx5club.org.nz/events/cat/cat_id/12/67.html
The social side is well worth the annual subscription, but you also get the topdown magazine and discounts from several parts & service suppliers, including Mazda NZ.
The National driver training day at Taupo is coming up and is well worth it if you can make it to get used to your new car.
