Replacing the water pump 1990 NA6CE 1600cc manual

Post by Ferretti » Sat Apr 17, 2010 9:09 pm

Hi has any one Replaced the water pump on a 1990 NA6CE 1600cc manual.
Can you tell me how to do it or direct me to a web site that lists this.
Where is the best/cheapest place to get the parts and how much would they all cost(probibly would do the cam belt etc at the same time). Thanks

I've moved this to the main discussion topic... it doesn't belong in FAQs (until someone documents how to do it... ;) )

Have a look here.

There is also info on doing the timing belt as well.

If you are doing the pump it makes sense to do the belt as well if you don't know the history.

You can get the pump and a complete kit for doing the timing belt from BNT. The kit includes the belt, new tensioner idlers and I think it also includes new camshaft seals.

Give the hoses a good check as well while you have it apart.

I can price up the belt kit and water pump for you on Monday if you like. I have several quality suppliers to choose from and will certainly be cheaper than BNTs retail.
