mmmmm. if yo were serious about sustained loss of traction.... you wouldn't have a center console to designate left by 7.62 cms! just pull it and snap it!

Pah, if you can't get an MX5 sideways without the handbrake you're doing it wrong!

I've spent all day today at the track and found the easiest way to get it loose was just weight transfer and a big clutch kick

I think I read some where that two designs were drawn up one in Japan as a mid engine or a front wheel drive and one in America as a rear wheel drive.
The American design was put in to production so this may explain the hand brake being where it is.
I may be corrected on this.

im pretty sure its same for fc rx7 for some reason.where as the fd3s hand brake is in the correct place but the american markets has it on far side like a mx5 for us.weird.

No!No! No!
Its because the handbrake works out to be the same grabbing distance in the MX5 as when you are popping the handy then hooking opposite lock under power in a FD RX7! YOU Know, also made by mazda....

Get out and Drift some other cars puritans!!!!!!

i like it where it is. just right for hooking some slide action.
of course i prefer to just laaaaaate brake and kick it around that way as it's much less aggressive and easier to catch.
