How to take off the Handbrake Level?

I want to refurbish my old NA wooden handbrake level. Dont really know how to take that part off but I just undo the three bolts n one elec cable, still will not do the job-Need to have the wooden part fully off so I can sand and repaint it. May someone tell me how to do that? thanks in advance!~
