Boot luggage rack.

Post by pamhanover » Tue Jul 18, 2006 9:07 pm

Has anyone seen a boot luggage rack which might be suitable for a 1990 MX5. Want to be able to strap a waterproof suitcase onto the boot lid so we can take more gear when we go on holiday later this year.

I have a boot luggage rack on my 1990 5 which was already on the car when I bought it 3 1/2 years ago. Its constructed of chromed tubing and clamps onto the boot lid at either side. It has a stated carrying capacity of 10Kg. If you want a photo send me an email at skams@clear.net.nz (skams@clear.net.nz)

Have you considered a MaXi5ac or similar? Have you repositioned the spare
wheel under the floor? Repositioning the spare wheel will almost double the
useable boot space. The MaXi5ac also holds a surprising amount of gear.

Have you had a look at
http://www.mx5club.co.nz/cgi-bin/db.cgi ... ew+Records

I have just ordered one from Paul, will hopefully arrive soon. I got it so that I can store more gear when going away for a weekend. It sits behind the seats and will fit with the roof up or down.

From the photos I have seen they look really nice when you have a cover for your soft top fitted. More photos are on TradeMe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 450275.htm
