Hi there,

Any advice on which car is better, if at all please. I am really struggling trying to decide on whether to go auto or manual, and if hardtop should be a non-negotiable. My budget is around $8-8500.

For myself personally, hard top and manual are must haves.

And remember a car with a good service history and high K's is better than one with little to no servicing and low K's

Auto for peak hour traffic any day over a manual.

Manual any day for country roads.

ABS every time.

Buy something that you like every time! :D

personally out of the four, i'd buy the second one (the silver RS)
the first and last come on crappy 14" wheels which kills the handling.
the third car looks "ok" and its some sort of special edition spec, but i get the feeling its one of those tatty cars imported by a dodgy dealer ...absolutly no reason behind it, but i just get that feeling.

the silver RS will have best resale and is the best car out of all of them from a spec level.

You just have to ask yourself whether you can do the commute in a manual. I suggest driving the RS and then one of the others and see how different they feel.

if the car is just going to be a commute to work everyday/parked in a public place all the time city runabout then the first car would be the one to get, but its nowhere near the car that the RS is.

I'd go for the RS, assuming a test drive doesn't show anything. Best resale by far when you take into account the points Slydit made and the auto box on the green one.

We have an NA1600 5 sp and an NB1800RS 6 sp. and we love both of them. The 6 sp is great for open road touring.

Oh and as Mr Grey said, the mileage is way less important than the history. our cars have done 254k and 165k respectively and have zero issues.

Silver RS...its also the most powerful, being the VVti engine.
Buying the hardtop already on the car makes sense, price wise, usually.

The second one mileage is in miles per hour, so be very careful it could have come from the UK where they salt the roads in winter (rust).

oh here's one...
its the very last of the pop up lights model... special edition in black and an auto with hard top...well under budget too !

don be put off by the early model its actually almost exactly the same underneath as the 98+ models

One thing i would do is sell those hideous wheels. the big wheels dont make for a nice ride. finding some stock 15" wheels shouldnt be hard to do...
It also says it has a soft top but in the pic it looks maybe the soft top was removed???? easy to refit.
i reckon its a bargain!
