Water/meth injection

Post by warrior » Thu Oct 09, 2014 6:38 pm

I am running water/METH injection on my supercharged NA, I currently have the injector just before the inlet manifold.

I am not running an intercooler.

I have read that maybe I should be running the injector BEFORE the supercharger to help cool the intake charge down.

Any thoughts on this? Is there any reason why I cant do this and does anyone know which is the best place to put the injector.

the cooling of the air is what your after, in turn this cools everything down, after the turbo so i would say after the supercharger

Keep it where it is. the spray cools the charge air in part due to the pressure drop at the tip. having it further away from the cylinder just heats it up and increases chance of pooling

Doing it both ways is not a bad idea
Before the supercharger cools the blower down and reduces the clearances (which are normally huge) so improves efficiency and often picks up a psi or two
And into the inlet manifold reduces the charge even more
Good atomisation and correct amount is the key to power
10% volume of the fuel is an excellent starting point.

That sounds like wizadry to me. Guess I'll spend my evening looking up how carburettors work

I think Noah did a good description of the innermost workings of a Carburettor,
If memory serves he had triple strombergs on his Ark
So there should be a decent summary in the Appendix of the Bible
Old Testament not New.
