OK guys!
Sorry for the confusion... I must have gotten my wires crossed at some point!

The route I have mapped out can always be shortened en-route to suite weather and drivers, I for 1 like driving and have no issues with a longer day.

A brief overview of the route is:
Leave Kopu driving along SH26 to Paeroa then turning onto SH2 to Waikino, there we turn onto Pukekauri Rd (a stage on this years Targa of NZ) and onto Old Tauranga Rd.
Join SH2 then continue past Katikati. I know a great Swiss coffee shop for a bite for lunch, lots of other options there too.
Turn off onto Old Highway for a great tight / twisty up n down blast and back onto SH2 for a short hop to Te Puna there we turn onto Minden Rd / Junction Rd / Crawford Rd / and Poripori Rd coming out onto SH 29 near the power station. (I have not driven this stretch yet but it looks pretty good!!!!)
Next we turn towards Tauranga for a few Km's, turning onto Omanawa Rd driving the length to see Jard from Team Jelly if he will see us to check out his dyno as very cool supercharged and turbo charged cars.
A short backtrack to McLaren Falls Rd and that pokes us out onto SH29 again.
Head towards Hamilton turning off for a small detour along Old Kaimai Rd (another stretch that I have wanted to do for a while but never found the time) stopping at the lookout for a photo or 2. Down the Kaimai's and onto Old Te Aroha Rd hugging the ranges all the way to Te Aroha. (this is a FANTASTIC road) and we will finish up at Ironique café to meet up with MATTBRG.

This is GOING to be a great day out, the weather looks good, some interesting roads and awesome people to hang with!

CU all on SUNDAY!

So it would appear that the sunday 22 June is the preferred day. Lets get the Ak members to meet at Bombay BP at 9.00 am. We will leave there at 9.15. This will get us to Kopu in time for a rendezvous which will allow a departure time of 10.30. The Kopu Hotel has a good size carpark to meet in and there is also a gas station over the road for those who need a top up. If we need to amend the route during the day this can be done on the run. Lets have a good turn out. Maybe some members who have never been will turn up also.

Just a point, any 98 stations on the way? I don't plan on burning through my whole tank but its very possible.

The bp at te puna near team jelly has 98. If you cant make it there on one tank you have serious fuel consumption issues

Ah there we go, nope was more concerned with the return trip. Its insane (Although not surprising at all) how much gas I eat through with the turbo compared to the n/a.

oh and if anyone has an early NA power steering pump, i'd like it please. its identified by the intake pipe flange having the bolts inline with the pipe vertically...that later ones have the bolt off to the side.

Bit of good news and bad.

Turns out I have to go do some work at Waiouru Army Camp on Sunday, but don't have to be down there till later in the afternoon/evening, so will meet everyone at Bombay, and cruise with you all down as far as Tauranga most likely, and then carry on down from there when you all turn around and head north again.

GRVUBB, can take you for a ride if you want at some stage along the path (or when we stop for a while somewhere), don't need to worry about the wades of cash, my car consumes dinosours at a rate all the time.

bugger...

oh well, there is always next time.

For all those on the fence about going to this, do not hesitate! I went on the last one with GRUVBB and it was AWESOME FUN! you get to see some great scenery, drive some good roads and hang out with some really nice people.

Take a chance, go along and you may well make some really good friends while having a fun day out!
