Only slightly off topic.........
But went to one of Taupo's Test and Tune days todays, As we needed to setup the suspension and do some tuning on a 300hp MX5 based kitcar.
What a difference to a normal Trackday
There were only three cars there and one bike, so we just went around and around and around,
We used a full tank of gas, filled it up and pretty much emptied that one too,
Cost was only $125, and the garages were free,
And best part was that it was the Full Circuit
Makes hiring the small version of Taupo for $2k not seem much of a bargain no matter how many people chip in.
Pukekohe Test and tune days are only $90 and are on the 17th and 31st of this month
So no prizes for guessing what I'm doing on the 31st this month
On a side note - a 300hp 680kg MX5 based car is a LOT of fun on a track

Scientists now foresee the future will be much more futuristic than they first forswore
Nice, what was that 2nd car? Seemed pretty beastmode. I know everyone hates an armchair racer but he might have been able to prevent that bump into the wall if he'd turned the wheel into it and floored it being a FWD.PLSEME wrote:Still off topic

But then again shit happens and you don't do the right thing all the time. Looks like he had fun.

Big thanks to Team Jelly for doing many laps in the passenger seat with his laptop placed not so firmly on his lap while we (well he....) did some tuning!!!
Nice to meet you Wide Open Throttle you've got a great little car there!
Hopefully next time we can all have a bit of a play together and run some laps
Puke is a funny place, I remember racing bikes there and it would always take a bit of time to get the groove back. It seems a bit boring until then and then suddenly lap times plummet and it becomes really enjoyable.
I have to admit I didn't quite find my groove on Saturday but I guess trying not to do anything too silly with a passenger on board is a good incentive not to push too hard, not to mention having a different focus than outright lap times.
Definitely need to find some pace if I want to properly take on the Honda's this season...

Gutted I didn't make it along to this and the Toyota fest at Hamptons, family member put in hospital so couldn't go.
Good to hear about the tuning, going to make a point of going along with you sometime in your car to see what its like. Have a T28 in my car at the moment and its a wee bit laggy, but very fun on boost.
