Started putting in the Recaro fishnets I gave the other half for Christmas. Super super low and way more comfortable.

Thinking of making some surrounds for my headlights to tone down the bug-eyed-ness of the 1st gen NB headlights.
(I know there's eyelids available from a couple of vendors - gv, carbonmiata etc. - but they don't help that much imo).
Rough mockup of what I'm thinking using tape:

Makes it look similar to Trueno/Levin AE111 headlights!
My partner bought me a Nardi steering wheel for my birthday, super happy, got a shift knob and handbrake coming to match

Ok, replaced my sump plug washer and did an oil change after like 2000kms. Sump no longer leaks, but something up the front is leaking and causing my air con belt to slip and make that fuckin' awful "I hate my car noise".
I don't hate my car.
Fuck off leaks, you're crap.

Finally got around to cleaning my electric window switches. Now both windows work, hurrah!
What a cheap crappy switch though. Going retro toggle switches some time in the future.

Not a big update but enough to warrant a picture. All hard lines are back in their place and the bonnet stay is also in. Chur James for sorting it out. Now I can work without losing my fucking head holding the bonnet up

Follow up to this. Went to zebra parts today and got an alt off a 1989 familia and a headlight off an old mini. Fitted them up at another mates place and thankfully my charge light hasnt come back.
This weekend I left the hardtop at home for the first time in over a year, forgot how fun it is to drive without a roof, also rediscovered the 100kph shimmy

Get a wheel alignment and balance and drop your tyre pressure.
With factory tyre pressure, the shake is null.

Yeah they're copies of the M2 mirrors, got them from mx5mart, was really pissed off for the condition they were in for how much they cost.

Curious as to how you know they are replica items?

M2s have branding on them and mostly come with blue glass, its pretty clear to tell these are cheap ones when you hold them, mine had a missing seal so someone used shithouse black sealant to hold the glass in.
