Started putting in a real roll bar today, fitted fender braces yerterday. Put a 21mm front sway bar on and picking up a 14mm rear bar on tomorrow. My rear torsion bar should turn up tomorrow as well. Just need to fit my poly bush kit and i cant wait to see how she handles

It's still RWD through a running an Nismo RB26 GTR clutch into a Nissan 370 Z 6 speed, carbon fibre prop shaft to evo rear diff which has been inserted into the Mx5 subframe.

engine wise it's technically it's an early vr4 block fitted with an evo 4+ head (which is a bit of a mission) but no-one cares about that so the short story is "evo powered MX5"

Still very much running it in on minimum wastegate pressure boost (9psi) so it's probably making around 140-150 wheel KW. but should really come alive when it sees 22psi down the track.

Meh TL:DR

I installed a new R-package lip on the rear, I bought it from Dylan Nielson and unfortunately the smaller piece was cracked but Dylan is going to replace it so that's really awesome :)

I also made some new tophats for my BC coilovers so that I can finally go almost properly low, or low enough.. ;) I made then 1 and a half inches high to go on the rear, the rear tophats I then put on the front. It really does look soo much better although I'm going to have to get the front guards pulled a little as the tires brush against the top of the guard when I'm turning and under a little bit of pressure.

Thanks man. Yeah I cut the mudflaps as I figured they are cheaper to replace than the lip if I ever need to. :)

I would be VERY interested in how you're going about this 114.3 conversion.

Fitted a whole bunch of bracing. Scraped over one of the bumps at botany. :? I'm not even lowered yet.

Need to take it for a proper hoon to see how much a difference the bracing makes mind.

Haha I think quite a few of us are in that camp Ian (hoping for less weight than the car actually has).

At half tank with driver mine came to around 1048kg (with Daisies though.. I should put it on the scales with the 6ULs to see how big a difference they make).

I don't think they'll make 148 kg worth of difference :P It's more that they're "unsprung" mass hence why all sport bikes have upside down forks now. Drinking less beer would make much more difference in my case...

Pretty sure that my car is definitely at the heavier end of the scale though, especially after I find more random accessories I don't need

I need to remind myself that the roll cage is probably as much as 50kg!! :o
And that was installed AFTER I last weighed the car when it was road registered at 1020kg, so effectively it has shed 170kg but gained those 50...

VHT flameproof 2200 degree aluminium. I used it originally for some stuff that was going to sit close to the header and loved it so kept going :P

Brownie,

They are interfence fit spacers to level the cooling panel out, theyre tight on the screws because you cannot get your hands inbetween the panel and bumper.

PM me if you need further assistance :)

Fuel filter = changed. I cut the old one open and it was dirty af.
Catalytic Converter = gone. Sounds so much better and raspier and gruntier without it. :)
Also rolled the front guards a little more because my car is now at a stanced height. :)
