The people over at mx5club.org.nz have a fund raiser coming up....
A Show and Shine at the Watene Reserve, Okahu Bay .10.am meet. We are again to raise a few dollars for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, a small donation of $5.00 per carwill be collected on the day. a prize for the best car will be awarded and a small trophy to mark the second Show and Shine. Crew from Westpac will do the Judging as last year.
WE would appreciate as much support on this event from members . Hopefully we can get members from other regions to come. We would like to see as many MX5s as possible ,members or not, so spread the word.
http://www.mx5club.org.nz/events/view/505/67.html
I am not a member but I think I will head down to check it out and its for a good cause

anyone else keen?

most of the mx5club members appear to be in the older age bracket with stock mx5's so it would be pretty cool if we could get some of us there to show what can be done with modification
it should be a good chance to speak with other people that love mx5's as much as we do.

You could be right, I meet member who was 92 years old and has a late model NC which he told me didn't have enough power so he had it Supercharged (so really it is not just young people doing modifications)
My Nb MK11 model runs on 17s has side skirts, rear skirt, has MK2.5 front air dam fitted with 2.5 headlights with built in LEDs and after market LED tail lights, just to name a few mods.
I didn't make a mistake. I gave you a observation test and you JUST passed.

They seemed to welcome the 7 or so modified/lowered mx5's that were from this forum last year, had a few asking me how hard it was to fit my wheel/tyre setup and how on earth i managed to fit in one with the roof on
Unless i trailer mine there it wont be making it, will still come along for a chat/take pics

Hey! I resemble that remark!
Actually having some silver in my hair can be a bonus. I got a little (well a lot really) sideways pulling out of my street recently right in front of the local cop, he just waggled his finger at me.

great idea siren

I am sure many of the enthusiasts would love to see what the potential of an MX5 is drifting-wise
I am still sorting out whether i go to dorkland on saturday or sunday morning, but either way I plan to meet GRUVBB before hand so our cars will most likely be in close vicinity of each other on the day, it would be nice to see some of you again and to get a chance to meet those I have yet had the pleasure of meeting
