A quick googling suggests that the ECU waits for the AFM to indicate there is airflow before it starts injecting fuel. It could also be a clogged fuel filter, or bad pump causing it to take a little longer for fuel pressure to increase at the injectors..?

If you put a jumper wire between the F/P and GND pins in the diagnostic port, it will turn on the fuel pump whenever the ignition is on. Perhaps if you do this and it starts straight away it may help narrow down the issue?
