Hey guys just wondering how much are getting from a full tank of gas I have a 1990 mx5 and im only getting 250-280kms per tank of gas in my book that's bad haha this is common ?

Check o2 sensor, air filter, plugs/leads. Check the condition of the oil too. A lot of people (including myself) have had mileage problems when they first bought their NA. Its an old car and it may be behind on maintenance. I started off getting shit km's out of a tank, but after doing all those things I have gained probably 70-100km's extra out of a full tank.

new air filter I was thinking o2 sensor could need replacing so ill do a full service on the thing even fuel filter and once the works done ill update status and let you know the outcome

Given that you have idle problems as well, it would be prudent to check
for crank nose problems. Your symptoms sound like my 1990, when the key
and keyway were smeared out of shape. Have a look at this page to start

1990 na, I did end up fixing the idle problem and I put what I did on the post

To answer your question, I get 400kms plus per tank full and this is mostly round town driving.

If I get heavy with my foot, it can go down to 350k's.

Longer drives gets 450k's plus.
