Racing Harness

Post by evel » Thu Aug 08, 2013 5:33 pm

Anyone know if it legal to use racing harness on the road, mounted to a harness bar and used with racing seats? I know logic should say yes but the government is weird

LVVTA site says harnesses will need a MSNZ authority card to be run on the road. I think a few people run 4-points here on the road without one though.

Is the car going to see the track often? If not then you can probably just unhook/tuck them under the seat when on the road and use the regular seat belt.

She will see the track maybe 5 or 6 times a summer but that will probably increase every season, kinda keen to use them all year because, well, the look badass and would also be good for spirited drives through the waitakere ranges

Partially correct, you still need the authority card.

Just to add - from someone who has dailied a race car, they get VERY old VERY fast. And NO woman will EVER want to go for a drive with you again.

Also since you have to re-adjust them every time you get in the car they tend to wear out pretty quick
