Cars & Coffee at Platinum Wheels

Post by tsoob » Mon Jul 08, 2013 12:55 pm

Hey Guys,

Thought I'd share this up here, we have been running these meetups for a couple of months now so I figured that it was about time we invited the forums along.

The concept is pretty simple, everyone is welcome its a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon where we just get together and 'kick tyres'

Each month we host a special guest, someone with industry knowledge or relevant skills/experience on a subject.

The next one is on Saturday the 27th of July, everyone is welcome!

Spent three hours machine detailing it, decided to go up top of One Tree Hill (as usual) and got stuck in the middle of a flock of bastard sheep... the crap... it went everywhere. The German tourists feared for their lives when I jumped out of the car swearing at the canvas it had become.

We had a pretty good turn out and a fun day was had talkin' crap about cars :) I'm glad the weather didn't play any funny business as well.

of interest to you guys was a really nice MX5 that (apart from mags) looked relatively stock from the outside, but he had done a really nice job on his engine bay (the engine was painted camo). When I saw how much space he had saved from removing and relocating things my first response was "oh wow, you have enough spare room to sleep a homeless person in there"

Wow that's a fantastic looking engine bay.
Lovin the camo paint job, even done to the pulley wheels it seems.
Where did he route his intake too?
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I agree Skilfil, my car is like an MX5 4x4 with its current ride height

and tomtikki, the air intake on his engine is down in the bumper area below the right hand headlight (getting air from under the front of the car) his AFM is down there too.
