Got back to my parked car on Tuesday to discover.....
ImageImage

Van driver had reversed out of their drive-way and bump! She had kindly left a note though. Claimed she didn't see it as it was too low. I had decided not to park in the Shopping-mall carpark as that always seems the place more likely to attract dents and dings.

Remind me not to wind down the window before it's repaired. I had been planning to get the nose re-sprayed anyway, so will be able to kill two birds with one stone.

oh man, I feel sorry for you, that would make me soooooo pissed off!

Its a sad state of affairs when most of the populace are driving around in gigantic bathtubs and don't pay attention to what is around.

in my opinion that's no excuse

-=edit=- on the positive side, from the photo's it appears that only the door is damaged so it's not as bad as it could have been.

Good on them for leaving a note... Its quite rare that happens. Seen a hit and run in a carpark, two normal middle aged women, they sat up straight then hoofed it.

They'll probably just replace your door and repaint it. Looks a bit too damaged to be worth the time to repair it.

Plus you have the best colour anyway! 8) pretty rare for some one to actually leave a note, good honest person. Need more people like that.

I think you should count yourself 'lucky' given the circumstances- A few more cm to the rear of the car and that would have made it a pig of a job to fix. A door replacement is easy :)

I had it happen to me in a Maccas carpark. HUGE Samoan gentleman and I saw it happen from inside. Walked out to get his number is case he did a runner and found him quite distressed because he had nothing to leave a note with.

We worked out a payment arrangement once I had the panelbeaters price, only $400 or so, and every month on the dot I got an envelope with some cash in it.

There are still some good people out there.
