Aftermarket wing mirrors?

As some of you may know my wing mirror fell apart at the drifting on sunday.
After looking on trademe for a replacement factory one it looks like it will just be cheaper to replace both with some aftermarket ones.

Anyone used these ones before or know if they'll fit the factory mounts?

Reasonably sure the iheartstance car used them, you can always use one of the original mounting points and drill an extra hole if required.

Maybe the middle hole will work? who knows.
I'll be picking the same ones up myself once i have some free cash.

Ask them what the spacing between the mounting holes are,The ones we used to do would bolt straight on with no mods,Look to be the same spacing.
Need to be 70mm centre to centre

Just got a reply from the guy and its only 38mm bolt spacing

I know Ross at mx5 mart has similar ones that use the mx5 mountings.

Yeah but they are over twice the price ($140ish inc gst) compared to these ones

Will you use the original mounting points? Dont want to have any visible holes in the doors.

Also this is how my passengers mirror currently sits lol

either will have to make a alloy/stainless cover for the holes or have one hole showing

They wont fit the standard mirror holes. They look the same as the ones on the white one i got recently.

Just looking back through the iheartstance blog to see how they were mounted on her car

I can tell you how she mounted hers if you would like. She redrilled holes to fit the smaller gap on the after market mirror then just used spare screws to fill in the original holes from the standard mirrors (from when I saw it last that was how it was)

Ask Noujan how she mounted hers because when I saw her car on saturday she mounted them to what looked like the original part from standard mirrors which looked really good

I took my OEM mirrors off, will be replacing them with blanking plates. I'll be putting aftermarket close in ones (S14?) in up by the A pillar ultimately, but for the moment I've got cheapies from Repco there, like this but no remote adjustment.

Mounting on the front window surround was a doddle.

Look what arrived this morning

Only ordered them yesterday, nz post must be getting slightly better

Turns out that they line up exactly with 1 of the factory screw holes and the random hole in the middle.

Took about 1/2 an hour to get the nut up inside the door to secure the bolt in the middle hole. Finally got it done with a heap of swearing and and using tools in ways they werent designed for

Just put one of the factory screws in the back hole to stop water getting in.

Both attached. They arent as tall as the factory ones so they will take some getting use to

I made some polycarbonate front quarterglasses so i could drill and mount my mirrors to them like this

the drivers mirror is all good to see out of but the passenger one had the window runner in the way of some of it
not that i really used them much

My god putting those side mirrors were so so so hard!
It was insanely hard!

Had to try tighten the nut from inside the door..its sooo small in there!! You just lose the nut cause theres no room in there for your fingers!!

Ive got about 6 nuts in my passenger door lost cause i kept losing them. and you just cant get them out! it gets like a small pocket inside the door where you need to mount the mirror that just gets in the way.

Even talking about it is furiating!!

It took about 2-3 hours just putting them on!!

Oh and i would also like to mention that you can barely see anything out of them! maybe i dont sit up high enough, but they are pretty much useless!!

Easy. Just drive faster than everything else on the road. That way you never have to look behind you.

I like mine, mounted up on the A pillar. You don't have to turn your head so much with them up forward.
