Specialist Hood repairers?

Post by Rupert Bear » Mon Sep 24, 2012 12:42 pm

Hi everyone. I live in Orewa on the North Shore and run a 1994 Roadster.
I just yesterday noticed that the inside top of my hood has come adrift from one of the supporting rails. I believe it should be attached, possibly glued? Does anyone out there know of a reliable, preferably specialist hood repairer on the North Shore? Any replies much appreciated.

just glue it back down using windscreen sealant wouldnt pay someone to do it unless yours is really really badly coming apart

Mine had done the same thing, I used contact adhesive to reglue it and it's still holding strong a year later.
Cool sunroof bro...

Thankyou, I'm sure yours worked fine, but I'm not that handy, and I feel that glueing it myself might get messy and out of control. I would hate to stuff up the lining. There appears to be a roll of black vinyl material wrapped around the supporting bar, and the roof top rests on that. It would be very difficult to avoid getting glue where you don't want it, and that is why I would prefer to entrust it to a hood specialist. Problem is where do I find such a person??
