Soft Top removal - what stays...?
Getting my roll bar fitted and the company doing it has removed the softop in preparation. I am going without the softop and just having hard or no top from now on.
BUT I suddenly recall reading somewhere tha part of the trim / weather seal etc should be retained for proper sealing with the hard top....
Does anyone have experience with this?

Rain rail, thats what I meant.
So the only bit that stays is the hard plastic trim that is on the car and would be an arse to mask if you were painting...just ahead of the boot..
that bit..?
In terms of the roll bar, more details coming, just working through a few tall and not skinny issues.
The traditional roll bar mounting method had it so that the seat could not slide back fully and more importantly for me (I stuffed my back in a MX incident) I need a decent recline to keep weight of my spine.
The normal way was close but too risky. I'd hate to spend that money and not be able to stay seated for any longer than 10 mins...
So a bit of a mission, but we are getting there...Paul, is being a champ in working these things out plus the new rules from MSNZ have made his life very dificult with a small car and big (ish) driver. Fortunately he had the head scrutineer guy come by and have a look so I think we are on the right track now...
Details and photos to come...

yeah mx5s and MSNZ regs dont go hand in hand unfortunatly...there needs to A LOT more flexability in roll bar rules for sportscars...
how the hell do lotus 7 cars get away with single hoop bars and still allow passengers yet you have to have a cage for a MX????
