I agree. I like my aircon and the 2 weeks I didn't have my ac running in the middle of spring were horrible. In the spring/summer rains it was super muggy, couldn't defog the front window and couldn't wind the windows down.

With such a small cabin and often a black roof, it can get pretty damn hot, not to mention being baked/scorched under our ozone hole sun....

If you pull the plug on each fan independantly it shouldn' over heat and you can easily tell if that is the cause...
I would encourage removing the air-con belt as this is intended as a temp elimination measure & not as a permanent fix as you have obviously mis-understood my reasoning!
Same as for the fans-if someone has limited mech ability then i would advise them to be cautious just in case they leave it idling too long unwittingly! :D

If its the A/C get rid of it cost of fix $0
No it wasn't your comments, was reffering to Kieran's. Not sure if he has driven an MX5 in the heat of summer without aircon in his flash, up market NB  (just kidding Kieran) ...but it is hard work... :D

Probably my biggest surprise when we finally got one. Open air cruising, really lovely but no one ever mentions getting deep fried at the same time

My air conditioning is non-functional so I'll be looking at removing it, and I have put up with temperatures without it in the heat of summer. With a hard top, because I have no soft top ;)

In a dinky, old 1989 NA, too :P
