I really do love those wheels! ^
Right so got some Tophat spacers made up, 3mm thick and Waterjet cut. Got 12 made so I have some spare(Have only used 4), had to put 3 on drivers rear and one on passengers rear to get it about right.
So now the measurement is 310mm all around front and just over 320mm rear hub to fender. I think I want to lower the front a touch maybe 5-10mm as its not 100% to my liking(Will it ever be?).
Here are the spacers
Side to side
Front
Rear looks awesome
To lower the front Im thinking either thin down the locator ring or try move the perch down...

This weekend I put 680 k's on the clock and only hit the ground once!
My exhaust pipe is very upset with me, not as much as the angry bird... Poor bugger got destroyed, but I gave the car a run down to the mount/papamoa

was good!

mx5's are real popular in snells beach/warkworth. picked up my spare bonnet to start polishing when i get the time, also turns out the cops don't mind driving without a bonnet.

Can't be as bad as when I hit my exhaust and snapped the bugger off
Also how does your exhaust hit anything when its so small?

speaking of exhausts .. if anyone has a spare rear half of a stock exhaust i do require one as the fart cannon really isn't doing any wonders.

Today i started my torsen diff swap (again)
Took the car down to my mechanic and got them to crack the cv nuts off.
Got home and found out that dad had taken his tool box and 29mm socket with him to work so had to wait till he got home to start on it.
After a heap of cursing at various nuts, bolts and driveshafts i finally ripped the old diff out.
Somethings missing here... i know a torsen!
More rake than Furai

Diff goes really well, checked what speed i was doing on my gps while the speedo was at 100k's and it was exactly 100k's. Seems like its actually a 4.3 torsen not a 4.1 like i thought

Cool,
I did take a bit of a punt on the diff ratio,Not that5r easy to tell with it sitting in the cradle,Putting a couple of marks on hub and driveshaft and trying to get the count right,According to that chart link i gave you it should have been a 4.1??,I hope 4.3 is for the better.
Let me know the benefits,Might have to consider the next one from Japan for myself

Yeah it still seems as revvy as the viscous was and has the same speed reading on the gps. 4.3 is awesome for me as it means i can still spin 2nd gear on the skid pan at hampton

Speedo cable is connected to the gearbox output shaft thus measuring the outputs rpm.
If the diff ratio had changed the revs and speedo would have displayed the same but the wheel speed would have increased.
Mine was dead on with the old diff because im running massive tyres

Got a windscreen mount for my dslr and took it for a test drive to see how still it held the camera.
Result was not very still. This is the youtube stabilised video.
