Today well yesterday really i replaced the ripped and rotten old softtop on my car
was pleased to see no rust on the back parcel shelf

Image

Not so pleased to see the end rainrail stud on the passengers side was already snapped off

Image

Cleaned out the drains - totally blocked

Took me about 4 hours total just cruising
Did need a hand when it came to reattach at the front clips- very tight

Do you mean the latches for the top? They can be adjusted fairly easily to set the tension on the roof

Good effort Ransom. Bet there will be some envious owners with leaks that think thats s sharp price to keep water out.

Today and well this week I have been enjoying driving my MX5 without a damp drivers seat and soggy carpet ....
New roof and adjusted drivers window is awesome
But i still dont feel like a hairdresser while blasting along the buller gorge listening to Motorhead on the factory cassette deck ...
I have my WAHL clippers in the glovebox but no im still a bogan...

Spent most of the day spring cleaning interior of the car. Stripped the carpet out and gave it a scrubbing with carpet shampoo followed by a jet blasting.

Cleaned up the tan trim bits and spray dyed a few bits black, buffed up stainless sills.
Fitted new/2nd hand heater controls so I can finally switch off recirculate.

Carpet dried out within a couple of hours so it went back in. Looks immaculate, hard to believe its 21 years old!

Don't want to put mats in now!!! ;)

Also refinished the steering wheel, the poly lacquer was chipped so I stripped it and refinished in tru-oil (gunstock oil), feels awesome :)

I am contemplating buying a new/used front bumper and deciding on how I am going to cut my rear bumper in the weekend. Oh and thinking of heading to M&T on the weekend to sort out getting a set of Lenso PDJ's Seeing as I have my doubts my car will pass it's next wof with the condition of the rear tires.

Yay its the weekend for me. Being old, I only work 4 day weeks. At least I don't dress funny and smell of wee - most days.

Finally threw out my original shagpile shit brown v-special mats today, after cleaning the carpet last weekend it just didn't seem right to have those horrible things anywhere near my spruced up interior.

Took the badges off and riveted them to my super new supercheapauto 12 buck mats :) yay, oem! Only putting one in, drivers side. Anyone getting in the passenger seat can take their shoes off :)

Bought some plasti dip. Spent ages searching online for plasti dip stockists, then found that supercheap, 2 mins down the road from work, do it in almost all colours (sigh, why didn't I just look at their website) So will finally cover up the beige dash this weekend, weather permitting. Will take pics if anyone wants.
