From the ashes... What did you do to your roadster today?

When putting the mounts back onto the block do the passengers side mount first. The drivers side is slotted so easier to put in when everything is tight.
The first thing to remove is the airbox.
And last, engine mounts dont like aftermarket headers, mind did not make it impossible just harder.

So got a bit done today, didnt get to paint my door though as the weather wouldnt play ball.
Got the NB Hubs in and put the MKIIIs on one side for fun. Also got the coilovers with new bushes in, what a difference the new bushes made!
NB Hub
NA Hub
Hard to see in photos but left is NA and is wider but I think it may have reduced camber but Ill check that on the alignment machine.
And If I had more MKIIIs

So while I got all excited about the header and making it shiny/painted I realised it was a dead end as I can't even fucking fit it. I've spent so long looking at this car and feeling depressed recently. Contemplated just putting the engine in and putting it on trademe...
Then I did 2 things.
1. I got a beer and manned the fuck up.
2. I chopped her with the colours I want as inspiration... Attached are some pixels of both.
I decided my best method was to get my ass in gear and do things in orderAll this time I've been prepping the engine with nothing to do with it after...**The first of those things is to get the front end naked, which I succeeded on doing today. There were 2 things I was VERY concerned about. The first is that I knew the car had been in a small frontal and I wasn't sure what sort of repair work was done that I couldn't see. Secondly was that the door pillar to chassis had a bit of rust. I knew the seam sealer was cracked but didn't know how bad.
The good news. Both are fine. The car is structurally mint, the seam sealer has cracked in 3 places which I'll grind off and replace easily. Otherwise just needs to be stripped and bay painted.

Today's effort means tomorrow, the last of the fluids come out, along with radiator, AC, power steering and peripherals. Hopefully engine is next week. Contemplating buying a sandblaster also...
My reward...

Pulling the engine and accessories, painting the bay, putting my rebuilt long block in, wire tuck, brake swap and if I have time, painting the suspension arms and doing bushes/sway bars.warrior wrote:Snap, what are you doing to your car? Sounds like you need some help?

Good to see your back into it Snap!
Dan post video of sound please
So I got impatient and test fitted the front bumper, fits perfectly apart from the drivers fender which I have found a new one!
Got some colour on the door but it needs a few more coats.
So still heaps to do but we are getting there, gonna have some wheels and other bits to sell soon to.
