Hi there,
Just fixing a few things on my 1992 mx5, and I'm on to the air flow direction in the cabin. At the moment, the air only comes out at your feet regardless of where the level is set...
I'm assuming there is a gate somewhere, which is pulled by a cable from the lever. Does anyone know how I'd go about accessing this? Hot cold lever, and the air intake/recirculating lever both work fine...
Not a big problem, but it doesn't make demisting the screen hard work!
cabin Air direction (eg, feet, screen) direction not working

Mine had this issue when I bought it.
Remove the glovebox and you can check the cable between the dash lever & the heater matrix (unit that has all the air direction flaps inside).
If its just come off then your golden!
If its broken -why?- check that you can move the handle on the side of the matrix -mine was jammed & the previous owner had probably tried to force it & broke the cable...
Hopefully it's just the cable, coz removing the heater matrix requires removing the whole dash! It was kinda fun, in an extreme way..
Give me a shout if you want more info.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
