I was given some steel today to make adapter plates for my rear view mirrors (the OEM hole distance is about 90mm while the after market mirrors I have been looking at have around about 65mm gap between the screw holes) so now I am out of excuses and will have to pull finger and order some new mirrors (the previous owner had cheapie repco ones on it when i bought the car)
The big problem I have now is working out which sort to go for....
Should I get some standard size mirrors or some formula 1 style mirrors (that look cool but have kinda crap visibility)
What do you guys & gals think?

While the small ones look cool I have heard they don't work to well.

try motorbike ones instead. guy at work has a suzuki FXR 150 road bike and the mirrors would fit great with a small adaptor plate.. ( i tried them)

Siren mentioned that they can move when at speed and I was thinking of setting them at an ideal angle and height and then use some knead-it at the rotation point to stiffen it up a little (and then give the knead it a lights sand and a coat of paint)
He also mentioned the visibility is pretty crap with them but I dont really use the side mirrors, I prefer the better visibility of the interior rear view mirror.

Yeah because of the mounting pole they are on they tend to jump around a bit while driving.

In my opinion they both look cheap with that little bent bar holding them, the mirrors look styley but the brackets look shite... But they arent going on my car and you did ask for feedback. No harm intended just honest thought.

i agree. they look cheap and out of place on the 5.

I purchased a bus spec Broadway interior mirror, best investment yet!
The wingmirrors on these are quite pitiful as they are!

Personally i like the look of the Bullet Mirror. The chrome finish would not suit though on a mx
