I was looking at this ad on trademe:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =559991122
would this fit on my NA6?
looking at the fittings, the mount on the top of the pic would affix to the rear drivers side tow-ring thingamebobby but the fitting on the bottom has me wondering, as it appears to mount to one of the main chassis strut thingies and mine only has one hole...
I have seen some that both sides mount to the tow-ring brackets but I am a little wary on this one as I am unsure if it would fit or not.
I was also told by a workmate that I would NOT need to wire up a lead for lights as long as the brake/turning lights on my vehicle are still clearly visible when towing a load and as long I do not drive at night.
is this correct?
(this was from the guy who sells the trailers at work but the VTNZ website just sent me in circles and I could not verify this information)

Well the guy says it fits an NA but the way it mounts seems quite uneven..MrGrey wrote:looking at the fittings, the mount on the top of the pic would affix to the rear drivers side tow-ring thingamebobby but the fitting on the bottom has me wondering, as it appears to mount to one of the main chassis strut thingies and mine only has one hole
Personally I wouldn't be comfortable putting much load on it.
I've got a mx5mart one on my NA6 - http://www.mx5mart.co.nz/photos/martpho ... ar_002.jpg
It mounts to the tow hooks on both sides and then through the floor of the boot with a plate. 500kg unbraked, 1200kg braked.
Used it heaps and it shows no sign of stress, plus it has a removable tongue which cuts down on the snigger factor.
As for the trailer light issue, my last truck license test mentioned trailer lights and yes if your tail lights are obscured then your trailer (or whatever is obscuring them) needs to have lights visible for those behind you. (fair enough)
Although a light plug only costs about $25 and it's dead easy to wire up.
Its got to a stage that bike racks obscuring the number plate need a supplementary plate, Iv seen some cars that should have a light bar too as everything is covered by the bikes! -although that's kinda off topic-
-note- if anyone see's a Smurf MX heading north from Vegas with a trailer on the back carting a washing machine, fridge & more on tuesday. It will be me!
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
