Taupo Trackday

Post by Donovan » Tue May 22, 2012 8:18 am

Just to let you know that there is a trackday on at Taupo on the Sunday 3rd, if anyone else is going or wants to go, have a look at http://www.playdayontrack.co.nz/news.php.

It is Queen's Birthday weekend, so don't have to rush back, mind you accomodation seems to be scarce down there for this weekend.

Hear a rumour that there is a 50/50 chance that some idiot might be down there that has shoehorned a 5.7L V8 into their MX5, doing shakedown testing, but that's just a rumour at this stage.

You should borrow someone's transport trailer, but you can't have mine as it will have something on it (hopefully).

Yes, will need a rollbar to go out on the track, along with Helmet and cotton overalls.

I have had a rollbar in my car, since day dot.

Put me down for seconds on drilling holes in your car.

Looks like plenty of people that will drill holes in your car for you, so you don't have to worry about bringing yourself around to.

Your going to have to do it at some stage, and you don't see the holes, unless you pull said rollover bar out.

I think the Mazdaspeed bar bolts only to the seatbelt mounts and the rear deck/parcel shelf, so slightly more effective than a style bar, but not as effective as a proper roll bar.

Testing with V8 not going to happen, car not going to be ready (again). Insert word here, sounds like truck, start with a F.

Since I am no longer taking the V8 down there, the trailer will sort of be availble, will be putting the STi on it, but it's road registered, so can always be driven (by someone over 25) if I had to tow another car back.

So now what's your excuse?

Don't know how old anyone is, just saying if they were going to be driving the STi back, they would have to be over 25, but that assuming born_disturbed would first have to have his car on the track, and secondly blow it up or prang it, which I am sure he wouldn't really want to do.

Plus since his signature used to say, "did that dickhead attitude come with the STi" I sure he wouldn't want to be seen dead in one driving it back, so I guess he would have be stuck in the 4x4 with my kids screaming, yelling and fighting in the back, while I would take a leasurily (quick) blast back up to AKL, tehe.

No no no it said "Did that dickhead attitude come standard with your WRX or was it a factory option"

STI's are entirely different
