Post by phil stewart » Thu May 03, 2012 8:05 pm

Hi mx5 land, I have an NB and am wanting to know if anyone has contacts for body kits. Any opinions of what different kits look better. I have contacted both the kits on trade me and although 1 isnt my 1st choise its the best quality. And trying to deal with the bomax supplyer is proving hard work. ok so Im sure someone out there will have an idea.
cheers

Welcome along,
Body kits are a subjective thing,Some people like to dress up others prefer the factory look,Really comes down to you,You'll be amazed what the right set of wheels and ride height can make them look,Mazda got it pretty right with the design,I prefer NA's myself,I do think NB's have a nice look out of the box as well.
Just keep in mind,It's your car ,build it to please yourself and don't worry about too many other opinions,We all have different idea's what what looks good.
You will be amazed how your idea's evolve though,Have a good look at some of the US forums for idea's.
I know Ross at MX5 mart was doing a Viper body kit at one stage,Copied from a Japan design.

I've always thought the NB looks great as-is, as does the NA, particularly when lowered appropriately and with a factory front lip, or an appropriate aftermarket front lip. If you're willing to lower the car I'd suggest doing so first if not already, and seeing if that's sufficient looks-wise for you, otherwise look at a simple front bumper lip perhaps :)

Sunvigor from Hong Kong does NB front and rear spoilers

Don't know how reliable they are though...

Here's my car with it fitted.
