Maybe being owned by a chick the idiots will still think they're 'too manly' to own an MX5.

A little bit of credit to the mx5 can't be a bad thing. It's going to push the value of ours a bit higher and maybe make second hand parts a bit easier to come by (particularly interior parts as they strip them out).

Sadly I've started to see more and more getting "drifted" which means they're on their way

But we have the advantage of driving the worlds most popular sports car in the world with over 900,000 being made so it shouldn't be toooooo hard to locate parts

yeah i just bought an MX5 (hence why i have signed up tonight), with plans to dirf it and thrash the crap out of it. but after actually driving it round, and smelling that sweet brown leather interior, and grasping that wood grain nardi steering wheel - it's become my baby. shall not be dirfed.
oh hai - i'm Luke from Wellington.
I'd post a pic of mine but i gotta wait 5 days from first registering. Oh the anticipation.

Dirfed? Is that drifting on dirt? (Funny - I always thought that was rallying!)

it's a 'take the piss way' of saying drift. it's a common place term in the places i lurk on the interwebs. Apologies for the confusion.
search dirf on urban dictionary and it's the 3rd meaning down.

I'm sure I'd have a little sideways fun on the track in my MX5 when I get around to it, I find it fun but I wouldn't make a point of it. I prefer to get good laptimes than spend most of the track sideways.

The true drifters that properly get into the sport are USUALLY pretty decent guys. It's the followers with their $2000 'thrashers' that are the real twits.

At the Taupo event last year since it was bucketing down and there were only 5 cars on the track at the end of the day, I figured I'd try my luck getting the car sideways seeing as the forced induced cars were spanking me.
It was fun except I had a habit of ending up in the mud off track more often than not

Might mean cheaper and more access to performance parts for MX5's? But then could also up the cost of drive parts as they get broken on a regular basis, I couldn't get over how cheap most of the parts for MX5's were.
Anyway heres some photos to keep it on topic:

I was just thinking that... just as surprised it hasn't sold.
