Do it yourself. You can get the red crackle paint from Repco. I think that there is a thread somewhere on here about the prep required.
Ha i just painted mine last week, what i was meaning is those covers say something along the lines of "16 valve turbo" on them, only BP rocker covers to have turbo as part of it

I've been meaning to paint mine for a while now but does anyone know where I can get the red VHT paint from? Supercheap didn't have them out at Massey.

Some of those engine bays look really tidy.

I did a Honda rocker cover a while back and was recommended to just use a good quality automotive paint as way more choice of colours and was perfect.

I did mine at the panel shop in blue with white lettering, both painted with DG

Well I finally got my rocker cover painted and back onto the car. All that's left is to paint the letters black on the cover and to paint the rest of the intake pipe, the strut bar and the intake manifold/butterfly valve thing matte black when I get more paint and free time...

I've decided that I like your wheels and the tinted rear lights (might attempt the lights after my long list of other things to do has reduced).

I use a product called Nite Shades by VHT. Still got most of a can left. It's yours if you want it. Just tell me your address and I will courier it to you.

Slowly getting there...

Post by Angreal » Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:51 pm

Well I've slowly getting there. I've completed the foamectomy and next weekend I plan to repaint my calipers with VHT paint, replace the front pads which are super worn and get the rotors skimmed since they're very warped.

Attached is a photo of the engine bay as it is now. All that's left in there is to paint the intake manifold by hand since I couldn't work out how to get it off to spray it, tint the washer bottle and think about tinting the coolant bottle, and install the new oil cap which is in transit. I do think all my hard work paid off in tidying up the engine bay. I do think my piece of carbon fibre looks pretty good although it looks more like a Honda engine now...

After this I plan to put in the Mk2 interior in, get new covers for the seats and replace the exhaust system to put the spare wheel underneath the car to free up some much needed boot space.

If anyone knows where I can get a new oil dip stick or how I could tidy it up, please let me know :)

Does it ever! I don't like the intake very much, but it's all we can work with for now until I either a) find a way to get a filter to squeeze on the front of the turbo, or b) manage to make a solid intake to roughly where the pipe sits now.
Cool sunroof bro...

I reckon you should do something like this
an isolated cold box with a headlight duct

Yeah I'll be doing something like that eventually. First step was getting the car on the road though.

You can just see mine at the edge of this photo - cold air feed is ducted from a hole in the scuttle panel at rear of engine bay and the heatshielding is bodged up from supermarket oven trays (idea stolen from the drift crowd), seems to work well enough so I never got round to making something more permanent. Turbobeanie wouldn't hurt either.

Or you could put your filter here as in the photo-it seems to work well for my set-up & you get cold air all day! :D
