Good Price on Brakes?

Post by Mr. Shine » Wed Jun 08, 2011 11:06 am

Hey guys, apologies if this should be in handling but I figured a price discussion might be better off here :)

Basically I'm after some new discs for my '89 NA. I'm looking at jumping on the track day bandwagon but as I've never done any track work before I don't feel ready to go for an upgrade, so I'm just after standard discs for now.

So I'm wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere for a sharp price on front and rear discs? Cheers :)

Cheers

P.S.
That goes for anyone on this forum. If there is an interest, I can set up a MX5 Forum cash account that would give you trade prices at any Autostop branch.

Post by mr_pool_pool2000 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:18 pm

i have just purchased standard rotors.
dose anyone know if getting your rotors slotted would help and what kind of cost is involved, could i just take it to any engineering shop and get it done?

There's plenty on the web about the benefits of slotting, but for trackday use only I doubt you would see any benefit. I did several seasons of full racing with the standard brake rotors and never had any glazing or fade problems.

Thanks very much for that, I'm a couple of weeks away from starting on picking up the parts for replacing my brakes all around, but I'll remember to give you a call!

That looks like a sharp price indeed, and I'll definitely be after some other bits and pieces you've got listed in the future too, cheers :)
