Soft Top Adjustment

Post by ham » Fri Aug 06, 2010 12:46 pm

Hoping you can advise me. The soft top is starting to leak. Top is in good order, after market with the fixed rear window.

When parked outside, water pools some where above drivers window. When you drive off all OK until you brake and then it all piddles out onto your knee. :( Once it has done this a couple of times all is OK with no more water coming in.

Any suggestions on some adjustment. If anything, I think the top may have shrunk a bit across the width of the car.

Thanks for any help.

I think there are two things you can check.

1. latch it has an adjustment screw inside.
2. Rubber seal in front of door. One at the corner that triangle window meets to A pillar has water drip tray like thing., The water dripped there will be go down to the pipe that is actually act as sealer in front. You wee know what I meant to if you look it. I has same issue before and this pipe was clogged or pinched at middle. This cause water to stay at tray at the top and you get this tipped on your nee.

Oh,

3. may be some alignment at corner?

Other member may have some more good idea...

good luck.

Check the side/glass seals are sitting in the frame properly. Also make sure they are sitting tight together at the joins when roof is shut. You can pull them toward each other for a snug joint.
