Good garages for mx-5?

Post by 15mx5 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 11:02 pm

Hi, just got my first mx-5, 92 roadster. I thought it's time for a servicing, can you gurus recommend some good garages that are "mx-5 friendly" in the auckland area?
Thanks.

Get a quote......like all mech shops they will probably try and avoid it. City garage are probably honets but in my experience damn pricey... but I was warned.

Heading up Queen St, on the left just past Mayoral Drive. They are actually down an alleyway but there is a sign visible from the Mayoral Drive junction.

Now I know you're talking about Auckland but anyone looking for an excellent garage in Wellington City try MacLennan Automotive in Willis St. Great bunch of guys and several of them have been or are involved in motorsport at some level or other. The guy that seems to do most of the work on my MX5 is also on Joe McAndrew's service crew. Charge out rates are reasonable and they go the extra mile - I had to get a minor brake thingy fixed for a warrant on one of our cars and because I had the warrant check sheet on the passengers seat and they saw it they did the road test to the testing station and back, got the warrant and charged no extra time.
cheers,

Mark

Thanks for the replies guys, looking to do a complete fluid change(oil, transmision fluid, brake fluid? clutch fluid? diff? I'm Mechanically Challenged). Should I throw in some other servicing while at it?
