Can anyone advise me of a good place in christchurch to get the back window replaced?
What are the pros and cons of glass window and can it be done without replacing the roof?
Thanks
Jason......

I don't know where to get a window replaced in Christchurch, but as for pros and cons, I have heard that unzipping and rezipping a glass window can be a bit of a pain in the butt. The extra weight of the glass compared with the weight of the plastic window means that you have to hold it up with one hand while trying to zip with the other and I have heard reports of the zip being damaged due to forcing against the weight while zipping up (ooh-er missus
).
On the other hand, many folk who have done it say that improvement to rear vision is well worth the hassle.
These people have replaced the glass themselves, but it gives a general feel for the result of the result (if you see what i mean).....

Some folk have also replaced the whole roof and frame with that from a later car (NB), although I would imagine that finding a complete set from a wrecked car in NZ may prove difficult.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi...
Wayne Patrick at Patrick Auto Trimmers, 359 St Asaph Street does plenty of MX5 hoods. Uses Robbins hoods from the US, sometimes has good second hand hoods. Easy to deal with...supplied mine.
Cheers, Ian
