Spark Plugs...
What spark plugs would MX5er recommend? any particular good or bad ones?
Have been taking car to be serviced previously but I have got some time on my hands and decided to do it myself
Thinking on NGKs any particular ones? Model numbers?
Thanks!

Definitely irridiums. You get more torque. Enough to feel a difference. And they last for ages, but in NZ about $25 each.

+ 1 on the NGK's.
I have used them and never had a problem.
$25 for the iridium's (sp?) just dont give any bang-for-buck or benefits
IMHO.

NGK all the way ... if you're going for Iridiums, ideally you want the "Iridium Max" ones (they're on trademe, not sold thru retail in NZ) since they have the platinum ground electrode also. Price is similar to single Iridiums.
This is because with the 'wasted spark' ignition 2 coils are fired at once, one sparking from the tip to ground , the other in *reverse* ! Iridium/Platinum sparks more easily from the fine tip than regular metal, so with a single Iridium you get a difference in spark-ability (tech term ) ... although maybe that's just my pedantic side coming out...

My understanding is that an NB has a very restrictive rear muffler (assuming yours is factory). That being the case, a change to a more free flowing type will give way more power than any 'esoteric' (I know, I know!) spark plugs, plus you will get a delightful exhaust note, for not too many pound notes!

Haha thanks guys... my contacts have sourced me NGK Iridium for $60 for 4... which isn't too bad...
Come on guys from my list of mods I have, I'm sure you all can tell that I'm more of a cosmetics guy than a go-fast guy, I just like my cars to handle and I have yet to reach it's limits even on track... so I'll keep it bone stock at the moment... As I may move on to the S2K in the distant future... Or if not, I'll S.C it
