FYI: Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emission [2007]

Land Transport New Zealand has released the above draft for public consultation.

The draft Rule and its associated information material can be accessed on the Land Transport NZ website.

Alternatively, a printed copy may be obtained by calling the Help Desk on Freephone 0800 699 000.

Information about making a submission can be found at the front of the overview to the draft Rule.

Submissions close with Land Transport NZ on 9 July 2007.

Ok so what i dont get is that are these rules for cars being complied for entry ( new cars and jap imports) or cars currently on the road?? the draft does not make this clear...

The way i read it...it only complies to cars being imported..not existing cars...and also it appears that if any car that is complianced under the new rules has ANY modifications to the exhaust such as fitting a different muffler, then it must get an emmissions test done... Am i correct here...

there doesnt seem to be anything that covers pre 2001 cars in regards to emmissions?????
