yes unfortunately as far as i know the electric motor is set,theres not
an adjustment on the side of the motor that allows you to crank it up.my
advice would be then to compare it with another owners car just incase
the motor is giving up, or perhaps your winscreen wiper tension is so
high that the motor is having a hard time,however i find that last one a
little far fetched.

If you tell us what city you are in I'm sure a local fellow mxer will be available for a wiper speed comparison. I'm in central Auckland. My wipers seem able to handle even torrenial rain (without rain-x)so it does sound like you have a problem.

Check out your earthing point on the chassis under the
washer bottle. It has been known to be a problem spot
as it corrodes. that earthing point earths the wipers,
and ECU and also the engine block too if i remember
correctly. Disconnect your battery then clean that
earthing point on the chassis. A bad earth will slow that motor down also.
BTW> Im working on a mod at the moment to make my
intermittant wipe speed adjustable.
