I have just purchased a MX 5. I have asked for a membership form as well as
subscribing to the MX5 List.

I have been phoning around for insurance, and a number of insurers will not
insure the MX5 in Auckland.

Do you have any suggestions on who to phone ?

I'm surprised as I have been insured by several companies since owning my
MX5 for the past 5 years: currently with SIS, in the past AA and also State
--always shifting for a better price. I pay about $450/year.

Where do you live, what's your age and most important what's your
accident/claims record like?

PLEASE RESPOND TO MY EMAIL - NOT A MEMBER YETI've used State and AMI in
Auckland for my MX-5's.

It can help if you bundle all your insurance together with the one company.
It tends to get you a better deal and they think twice before saying no.

Garaging, no claims and driving record makes a significant difference.

I just did mind thru Westpac, they didn't ask any questions at all, a few
others seem to have trouble if not alarmed, I may have to check that they
know what an MX5 is? I did tell them it was a convertable roadster.
