Hi All
nice to see we still have such a diverse bunch of enthusiasts,
and I also think I see a lot of frustrated people here on his list,
yep! I'm one of them, what I think is needed, is a day for a some of us at
Pukekohe lets take some of the
frustration out there,
and I don't mean driver training, I've often gone there with a couple of
members during the week in the summer, not sure of this time of year, you pay
your money (was $70) and you can go round all day till you've had enough, I've
always felt much better afterwards, drove home with a big grin on my face,
you only have to see the faces of the people at driver training days, most of
all when the helmets appear,
the most people I've ever seen at club events are at driver training days, I'm
sure someone might quote me wrong here,
maybe the club should have these type of days 3 or 4 times a year, its only a
suggestion.
Gary you are right about S/S hoses, WOF will fail you because they cannot see
if there are any flaws in the rubber, went down that road
Graeme some of us don't necessary like convertibles but love the MX5, my
hard top is on more than the top has been down, if it wasn't for some of the
people on this list I would never have owned a sports car, the MX5 is my
first, always drove 4dr sedans and still do, but I would never now be without
a MX5 (8yrs now) to go with my new Holden, (no comments please) that's why we
are all different and not clones, but we all love our 5's, I do mine
you know the story any excuse to go for a drive in one even with a hard top
on.
think nice thoughts people
my 2c worth

At least you can get to the driver training days. Maybe the club should look
at getting a cheap deal for crossing Cook Strait!
At least I get to use my MX5 as a work vehicle for some of the time. 285km
yesterday (with the roof down!!) Two return trips around one of New Zealands
best MX5 roads, the Queen Charlotte Drive. Great weather, great road, great
car. And all paid for by someone else.
I wouldn't be too worried about the Holden. My other vehicles are a Honda
Odyssey, Isuzu Bighorn (Diesel), and soon to be sold (I hope) Toyota Masterace
8 seat van (Diesel). Hardly sports cars!
Only had the '5 since September last year, but done more than 15000km in that
time.
It's hard not to think nice thoughts when you have one of these to drive!

ps The roof is up only when the car gets washed. Even at 5Celsius, sunny day,
roof down, heater on, jacket on, possum fur lined hat on...great fun!
