re[2]: Adjusting external mirrors

I recently dismantled both of mine and sanded down and repainted them as they were rather faded. I discovered that you need to have the main bolt done up very tightly. If its not really tight the vibration when driving (my firmer suspension doesn't help) soon makes them sag.
It took me about a month from start to finish to get both mirrors finished (I'm a slacker at the best of times) and wouldn't you know it, a day after I'd finished I drove down to the shops, and as I pulled into a parking space a kid in a Falcommodore opened the door and Crunch went my mirror. It didn't totally break, just cracked both plastic parts scraped of copious amounts of my lovely fresh paintwork. Just one of those days.. ;p
